Cluster Support Engineers support mission critical applications at the leading edge of the Telco industry. As such they thrive on risk, crisis, and pressure. They are also self directed, self-motivated, andparticipate fully in the dynamic life of MySQL's support team. If you are one of the few who can step into such a role, apply now. Responsibilities:
o Assist MYSQL Cluster Customers in trouble
o Improve MySQL Cluster source code
o Aid application development for Cluster customers
o Design specifications for improvements
Qualifications:
o 3+ years C/C++ software development experience
o Practical experience with distributed computing
o Understanding of high availability, load balancing, and performance
o Understanding of database engine design and implementation
o Strong troubleshooting skills
o Strong experience with Linux development environments
o Proven skills in solving complex issues
o BS Computer Science or equivalent
o Fluent written and spoken English
o Experience working with revision control tools (for example: BitKeeper, Subversion)
o Experience with MySQL usage and administration
Desired:
o Experience with database kernel (research, commercial or OSS) development
o Experience with open source development tools and environments
o Contributions to some Open Source projects (we like to see Code from people who apply!) |
